Our company was founded in 1976. After over 20 years of unparalleled success as the Coleman Land Company, Prudential Utah Real Estate was incorporated in 2001.

On November 12, 2009, Prudential Real Estate announced new leadership when Stephen Roney, a residential real estate and relocation veteran of more than 30 years, assumed leadership of the company.

After several years of success under the Prudential brand, in 2014 the company changed umbrellas and became Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. The company’s standing partnership with Berkshire Hathaway, one of the most respected brands in the world, has ushered in new growth and increased company size throughout.

Stephen C. Roney

Chief Executive Officer & Owner

Stephen C. Roney has nearly 50 years of operating experience in the corporate relocation and residential real estate business with a strong record in achieving profit, growth, and diversification objectives. His leadership of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties has led to significant growth, making it the largest privately owned brokerage firm in Utah with more than 500 Realtors and 30 offices serving the Wasatch Front, Wasatch Back, Southern Utah, and Southeast Idaho markets. With his extensive experience in the industry, including executive roles at Transamerica Corporation, Coldwell Banker Relocation Services, Inc., and The First American Corporation's Residential Group, he has made significant contributions to the development of residential real estate platforms and relocation services. As an acknowledged industry leader, his insights and expertise have been sought after, with his work and quotes being featured in prominent publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune Magazine, Forbes Magazine and “Best Practices: Building Your Business with Consumer Focused Solutions.” Berkshire Hathaway Inc., under which the Company operates, has been recognized as one of the World's Most Admired Companies by Fortune. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties has been the recipient of numerous awards including but not limited to #1 Office in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network 2022, 2021, 2020. He is a graduate of the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He and his wife of 51 years, Karen, are parents of three sons and have five grandchildren, all residing in Utah and active in the families’ businesses. Outside of his professional accomplishments, he is actively involved in the community, having served on the board of Summit Land Conservancy, and currently serving on the Boards of The Egyptian Theatre, Intermountain Hospital and Wasatch Hospital Foundation.

Steve Roney, Jr. is involved in all operational areas of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties, including marketing, technology, and finance. In his role as Executive Vice President, Steve plays an integral role in guiding the strategic direction of the firm, working closely with the management team, staff, and agents. Steve relocated to Park City from Southern California in 2015, where he had spent 10 years working as an executive for publicly traded companies in the consumer electronics and technology arenas. Steve attended the University of California, Berkeley where he received his undergraduate degree in Economics. For his postgraduate work, Steve attended Loyola Marymount University where he received a JD/MBA. Steve is the proud father of a son and a daughter.

Tom Roney

Executive Vice President & Owner

Tom Roney is involved in all operational areas of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties, including marketing, technology, and finance. In his role as Executive Vice President, Tom plays an integral role in guiding the strategic direction of the firm, working closely with the management team, staff, and agents. Tom relocated to Park City from Southern California in 2009, where he had spent 6 years working in finance and investments. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration and is the proud father of two daughters and a son.

Marc O'Brien

Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel

As Chief Administrative Officer, Marc oversees the daily administrative operations of the Company, provides input for strategic planning, collaborates on policy development and implementation, and ensures that client transactions are processed efficiently and in accordance with established policies. In his role as General Counsel, Marc provides the Company with legal and strategic business counsel in all facets of its business and ensures that the Company meets its regulatory compliance obligations. Marc began his career as a corporate attorney with an international law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. After relocating to Park City in 2006, he established a law firm and developed a real estate practice representing agents, buyers, sellers, and the Company as well. Marc’s extensive experience and knowledge of the real estate industry are a valuable resource to the Company, agents, and their clients in navigating the many complexities of a real estate transaction. Marc received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida and his J.D./MBA from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Melissa, and their two sons reside in Holladay, Utah.

Senior Vice President & Principal Broker

In his role as Principal Broker, Will focuses on overall company growth strategies including recruiting, market expansion and production improvement that includes coaching and training throughout the Company. His extensive background in real estate agent development along with his dynamic personality make him an incredible asset. In real estate’s constantly evolving and competitive landscape, he ensures the Company’s agents are given the resources and support to distinguish their services and offer enhanced quality service to clients. Will has enjoyed a distinguished 32 year career in real estate. Most recently, he was a President and an Owner of Stringham Schools, the largest real estate school in Utah. Prior to his time at Stringham, Will was the Principal Broker and Owner of ERA Legacy from 1998 to 2008 and was the CEO of Virtual Agent, now known as Dotsignal, a mobile marketing technology company for Realtors from 2008 to 2014. He has been a licensed agent in Utah since 1991 and a Pre-License and CE Instructor since 2008. Will, and his wife of 31 years, enjoy spending time with their 4 daughters and their families. His 6 grandchildren are a highlight in his life. He also enjoys running and playing the bass in his band, Playback.

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Kyle has over 35 years of experience in Accounting and Finance with 30 of those years in the Real Estate Industry. He started his career in Real Estate in 1993 as the controller for Mansell and Associates. While at Mansell, he was instrumental in their rapid growth by implementing new software and procedures that allowed the firm to expand to over 500 agents in 16 locations throughout the state of Utah. In 2001, he began working for Prudential Utah Real Estate as CFO. While at the Company he was responsible for Operations as well as Finance and Accounting. The Company experienced rapid growth as well and in 2005 it was one of the fastest growing companies in the country. In 2008 he changed companies and went to work for a large Commercial Real Estate company in The Woodbury Corporation as its Controller. In 2011, he returned to the new Prudential Utah Real Estate, now Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. Kyle attended Idaho State University where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. When he is not in the office Kyle enjoys playing golf with his two sons and daughter.

Joe’s 25+ year career has been focused on how to leverage technology to increase sales and improve the sales experience. Joe moved to Utah from Southern California in 1996 and has served in various leadership positions including VP of Business Development, VP of Sales, and CEO. He has been a co-founder of several companies and uses his multifaceted experience to contribute to strategy, sales, training, marketing, and the overall success of the Company. He is a veteran of the technology industry having worked in early computer networking through today’s cloud based platforms. Joe enjoys volunteering at his kids' schools and other community events.

Jamie leads a team of very talented marketing specialists to serve all of our clients' needs. Jamie believes that collaboration, creativity, teamwork, and swift execution are all components to successful marketing. Starting with a degree in Communication and Business from Loyola Marymount University, her entire career has centered on business development and marketing strategy. Prior to joining the Company, she helped to start and grow an advertising and marketing agency working with hundreds of clients across the United States. She now focuses her skillset to market the brokerage, its agents, and all of our clients through our full service in-house agency. Together with her husband, Steve Roney, Jr, their two children and two dogs, Jamie loves spending time in Utah's great outdoors.

Kevin Larsen

Senior Vice President, Brokerage Operations Wasatch Back

Kevin joined the Company in 2019 as the Wasatch Back Broker which has since been recognized as the #1 Office in the Berkshire Hathaway Global Network three years in a row, 2020-2022. Kevin began his real estate career in 1990 serving the Salt Lake and Park City Markets. As an agent he consistently ranked in the Top 10 of over 1,500 agents in the company. He then began managing real estate offices for Wardley BH&G and then Coldwell Banker NRT. He developed both the new and experienced agents helping them build their real estate careers with several earning Rookie of the Year Awards and the Salesperson of the Year in the SL Board of Realtors. Kevin has served as a Director of the SL Board of Realtors, on the Grievance Committee for Professional Standards, as the liaison for the SL Board to the Utah Association of Realtors, and is a major donor to the Realtor Political Action Committee supporting Realtor & Property Rights Issues in Government. In 2021, Kevin was recognized as Realtor of the Year by the Park City Board of Realtors. Kevin grew up ski racing for Park City and then was a Ski Patroller for 20 years at Brighton. He enjoys all that Park City has to offer including golf, mountain and road biking, hiking, and traveling. He and his wife, Barbara, have 7 kids and 6 grandchildren from a blended family and love spending time with them.

Lance has an extensive resume with 25+ years in the real estate industry and over 2,000 successfully closed transactions. As the Senior Vice President of Operations, Lance uses his experience and industry knowledge to help create productive office environments, mentor and coach producing agents, and provide guidance on complex transactions. He directly oversees the statewide operations for the Relocation and Commercial Division. Additionally, with his background in land, development, and new home communities, he assists the Developer Services Division at the Company.

Rob Ockey

Vice President & Managing Broker Salt Lake City

Rob brings 30 years of experience in real estate to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. As the recent Principal Broker and Co-Owner / Co-Founder of Century 21 Everest, Rob helped grow the company to one of the largest brokerages in Utah through development, mentorship, and coaching of both new and experienced agents and by overseeing thousands of transactions each year. During his leadership, Century 21 Everest became the #1 Office in the Century 21 network worldwide in Units Sold and the #3 Century 21 company overall. Rob has served the local and state boards in several capacities through the SL Board Nominating and Finance Committees, the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees, the UAR Professional Standards and Forms Committees, as a UAR Ombudsman, and as a NAR Certified Mediator. In 2016 Rob was awarded the Salt Lake Boards Managing Broker of the Year and in 2023 was the Salt Lake Board President. Rob and his wife Jhoana enjoy spending time with their 3 children, traveling, camping, and playing pickleball and golf.

As Senior Vice President of Development for BHHS Utah, Diane was the development representative for East West Partners for over ten years, representing over 350 million dollars of developer sales in Empire Pass, Deer Valley. Diane and her team have a 40-year track record assisting developers with their projects. As the leading development brokerage in Utah, representing numerous current and 100+ past projects throughout the state of Utah, Diane and her team work side-by-side with development clients through site selection, initial project planning, and project launch through completion with the goal of marketing real estate projects that exceed demands of the marketplace. Diane’s substantive background in real estate, medical sales management, and marketing has enabled her to implement marketing best practices to the benefit of our developers. Her track record as a former top-performing agent informs her ability to understand and meet the manifold needs of development real estate sales teams.

Senior Vice President, Development Administration Services

Originally from the Los Angeles area, Chrissy moved to Park City from Telluride, Colorado in 1976 when there were no traffic lights in town and Deer Valley® Resort wasn't even in the planning stages. She began her real estate career in 1979 with Coleman Land Company, the parent company to the current Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. Her real estate experience and knowledge grew along with the significant growth and changes that occurred in Park City since that time. In addition to real estate as a passion, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Dave, and their goldendoodle AJ. Scuba diving, hiking, and biking are her favorite pastimes.

Bill moved to Park City in 1970 and subsequently founded the Coleman Land Company in 1976. An indispensable member of business and civic organizations throughout the Park City area, Bill led many Park City development dreams to fruition and lists involvement in hundreds of transactions. He has served on the Park City Planning Commission and Park City Council.

A veteran HR professional, Ross is in charge of recruiting, employee and agent benefits, employee relations, hotel and hospitality discount programs, and oversees the home warranty program. Prior to his joining the Company in 2009; Ross was with Marketlink, First Team Real Estate, Chief Administrative Officer at NRT, and Vice President Human Resources at Coldwell Banker. Among his favorite charities is the Shriners Hospital for Children, which operates a specialty facility here in Salt Lake City.

Jill Stringham, an esteemed professional, joined the Leadership team at the Company in early 2022, assuming the pivotal role of VP of Business Development and Managing Broker with a clear vision to assist in the company's growth, and ensuring seamless operations and providing crucial support to all agents within the organization. Alongside her professional responsibilities, Jill demonstrates her commitment to ethical practices by serving on the Grievance Committee for the Salt Lake Board of Realtors. Kimberly is devoted and treats her clients and peers as her top priority, always going the extra mile, and is known for her excellent communication. Of the many responsibilities as the Logan Broker, her favorite is working with each agent on a personal level to help them reach their full potential as a professional Realtor. Sandy oversees the day-to-day operation of Southern Utah’s busiest cities. Sandy received her State of Utah Appraisal Education and License in 1996 and then her real estate license shortly after. In the spring of 2001, she was hired by SunCor Development (Pinnacle West of Phoenix, Arizona) in the sales and development of the Coral Canyon community with over 2,600 master planned acres. In 2003, the community was voted “Community of the Year” by the Utah Home Builders Association for the state of Utah. In 2005, she received her Brokers license and took over as the principal broker for the development. In 2010, she opened Coral Canyon Realty until 2022 when she began her next chapter with the Company. When she is not working, she is enjoying her family – 3 amazing daughters, their husbands, and her 11 grandchildren. She is a cellist in the Southwest Symphony, has always enjoyed all things equestrian, riding with her husband on their Harley, running, traveling, camping, and their favorite pastime – LA Dodgers baseball.

Rich became a Park City Realtor in 1994 and set himself apart by being one of the first agents in Summit County with a website for buyers to shop for property online. It helped to put him at the forefront of the market and led to his involvement at the Board of Realtors as MLS chair and then Board President. The Board of Realtors position provided many opportunities for Rich to get involved in the community serving several non-profits around Park City and as President of the Park City Rotary Club. When not working or supporting local activities, he enjoys the Utah Motorsports Campus driving fast cars or go karts.

Born and raised in Park City, Katie is an expert on the local real estate market. Katie is charged with ensuring the firm’s Commercial clients receive the full capabilities and resources available. From finding and evaluating real estate options to detailed negotiation and a step-by-step process of the acquisition or disposition, she is committed to providing the collaboration clients need to make the best-informed decisions. With two undergraduate degrees in psychology and economics as well as a master’s degree in real estate (MRED, Master of Real Estate Development) and the coveted CCIM Designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member), Katie is talented and experienced in both people and real estate. Katie also enjoys supporting her local community through multiple boards and foundations including: CCIM Board of Directors 2023 Utah Chapter President and 2024 1st RVP; Mountainlands Community Housing Trust Board of Trustees and Executive Committee; Mountain Trails Foundation Board of Directors and 2024 Board President; Prospector Square Property Owners Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee; and the Park City Rotary Club.
